WWE Battleground 2015 Predictions

1) Bad News Barrett vs. R-Truth
I have to give props to BNB for doing his best to build this match on Smackdown. For the first time in this entire atrocious set of matches, I feel somewhat invested. Barrett said he's tired of Truth dampering on the King of the Ring and he's gonna put an end to it here. This will either be a nice little competitive match or a complete squash. Either way, Barrett walks out on top and hopefully onto something better.

Who I think will win - Bad News Barrett

2) Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young) vs. The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, & Xavier Woods) - WWE Tag Team Title Match
This is hard to call. When predicting matches, I think of not only what I think they will do, I also think of what they should do and/or what I would do. New Day is so good and getting such a remarkable response that I almost feel like they should get the titles back. I mean, after all, there's more money in the babyfaces chasing the belts. The bad thing is, there's likely only one more match left for PTP in the top tier if that takes place SO, for the sake of PTP, I think they'll keep the belts here in some fashion. Maybe have New Day pull the switch like they did a few PPV's ago and instead have it backfire on them. This calls for another match between the two teams. You can do that at SummerSlam and throw another team in the mix to keep things fresh. In that match, have New Day finally win the belts back. I want PTP have a good reign and I feel like it's too soon for them to drop the belts.

Who I think will win - Prime Time Players

3) Randy Orton vs. Sheamus

The IC Title match being removed from this show due to Ryback's injury means that some matches will likely get some extra time. I sincerely hope it's not this one. I don't know what it is, but Orton & Sheamus in the ring together just screams boring despite both men working hard. The best way to put it is that they bring out the worst in each other. I think Orton will pick up the win here considering he needs it more. Sheamus has the briefcase to keep him looking strong and like a constant threat despite a loss.

Who I think will win - Randy Orton

4) Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt

After Smackdown this week, I think this will be one hell of a match. Possibly Bray's best one in a while. Both men hit hard and I think their respective strengths will mesh together for a very good contest. Reigns' strength is in his hot signature moves that provide the perfect comeback and Bray's strength is psychology and storytelling. I expect a slugfest and a match to remember. This is saying alot considering my opinion on Bray at the moment and the fact that I'm not a big Reigns fan, but there's no denying that there's groundwork here for a great match when you look at it on paper. As far as who should win, it's a tough one to call because both men can ill afford a loss at this point. I'm guessing this rivalry will branch past Battleground so I'm gonna go with a Wyatt victory here to continue Reigns' chase after the Eater of Worlds. A distraction from Harper costing Reigns the match would be a nice way to go, I think. Rowan is out for an undetermined amount of time, but Harper needs something to do and they were reunited anyway. Throwing Harper in the mix adds a new dynamic to this feud and I think it's a way they might go and it's definitely the direction I'd like to see it head in. A few Reigns/Harper singles contest on Raw & SD then send Ambrose in to help Roman since the odds are now two against one with Harper helping Wyatt. This leads to Ambrose & Reigns against Wyatt & Harper at SummerSlam. Just an idea. Regardless, I think Wyatt comes out with the win tonight.

Who I think will win - Bray Wyatt

5) John Cena vs. Kevin Owens - United States Championship Match

This is a match that will have a bittersweet outcome either way. John Cena's US Title open challenges have raised the prestige of the title to such a level that I pain to see it end. PLUS, it's produced so many awesome matches that I can hardly picture a good episode of Monday Night Raw without it. However, if Cena wins, that leaves Owens somewhat out to dry and that is a bigger risk so I'm going with Kevin Owens becoming the new United States Champ here. Not only for that reason though. Also because this opens up the door for a match I'm expecting to take place at SummerSlam. A fatal four way for the US Title between Kevin Owens, John Cena, Cesaro, & Rusev. Kevin has screwed both Cesaro & Rusev out of the title which will set up wonderfully Owens staying true to his word and finally being the one to dethrone Cena. On Raw, Cesaro & Rusev can both lay claim to deserving title matches and they will also have a grudge behind their claims. I think an Owens title reign could go into the fall although I eventually see John Cena grabbing the strap back before the end of the year by hook or by crook. That's too far ahead though. Bottom line is I see Big Kev picking up the victory here and earning some main roster gold.

Who I think will win - Kevin Owens

6) Seth Rollins (c) vs. Brock Lesnar - WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

Much like several of the other matches on this card, this feels like it could go either way, in my opinion. This is a good thing for WWE because it usually translates into PPV buys due to the unpredictability. I feel like Brock Lesnar winning would be best for business however Rollins' reign has been so weakly booked that I don't know if taking the strap off of him at this point in time would be the best decision. Then again, I don't see Brock losing clean here which means overbooking and possible interference so the point of keeping the belt on Rollins doesn't seem to be a good one as it would simply continue the trend of dampering on his run. So if it was me booking it, I'd have no clue what to do. That translates into my prediction for what will happen which is that I don't know what will take place. I have no clue. I do however have the sneaking suspicion that Seth Rollins will walk out with the championship. By hook or by crook. Could we see Paul Heyman change alliances out of nowhere and lead the future to victory over The Beast? Could the rumored return of Undertaker spawn controversy in the main event that leaves the match without a decisive winner? Or, could Rollins shock us all and put away Brock on his own? There's so many different ways they could keep the gold around Rollins' waist and I feel like they will choose one of those routes. Rollins retains.
