Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel opens the show. He mentions Kane’s unmasking last week, but says he’s not about the UGLY he’s about the.. beauty. Ok. His guest tonight is Stacy Keibler (w/ Scott Steiner). I guess they’re a package deal now. The sexual innuendos begin quickly here. Jericho says he’s been checking out Stacy’s spread. He also says he didn’t invite Steiner here and tells him to get lost. Jericho says he’s a legend in the ring and the sack. Lmao. Stacy asks Jericho if he really thinks he could compete with FREAKZILLA. Stacy says she’s heard Jericho has a small penis.. man.. why the fuck am I typing this all out. Jericho brings out Test, clearly trying to start trouble.

Jericho attacks Steiner and Test joins him. Steiner starts clearing house and out comes Eric Bischoff. Bischoff announces Jericho & Test vs. Steiner for later on and also lets us know that Stone Cold isn’t here tonight.

1) Goldberg vs. Lance Storm

Rodney Mack attacks Goldberg during his entrance and the match with Storm never even gets started so Goldberg destroys Rodney while Teddy Long loses his mind.

Backstage, Eric Bischoff finds Kane and tells him he has to go out and face the people tonight. Kane doesn’t want to. Bischoff tempts him with a World Title rematch with Triple H. Kane still refuses so Bischoff says he’s gonna give the World Title match to Kane’s former? tag partner Rob Van Dam.

2) Jazz (c) vs. Gail Kim vs. Trish Stratus vs. Victoria vs. Ivory vs. Molly Holly vs. Jacqueline - Battle Royal for the Women’s Championship

This gets down to Trish, Vic, & Gail real quick. This is Gail Kim’s WWE debut and she gets a nice reaction. Victoria eliminates Trish and goes after Gail Kim calling her “fresh meat” but it costs her and Kim eliminates Victoria to become the new women’s champion! Wow. Wasn’t expecting that. Match is whatever, but cool moment for Gail Kim.

Match rating - *3/4

3) Christian (c) vs. Booker T - Intercontinental Title Match

This rules as it always does. Christian attacks Book before the match. They brawl through the crowd. By the time we’re back from commercial, the match has begun and Christian is working over Book. Aside from Jerry’s “call the cops” jokes, commentary does a good job putting over the story. Book has been screwed out of this title for months. The crowd is behind him and JR even admits that he is biased and wants him to win as well. This makes Book’s comeback even more awesome. They almost made me believe that Book was finally going to get his due, but of course he doesn’t because they are treating him like shit at this point in time. Whatever. Still a good match.

Match rating - ***

RVD confronts Kane backstage about chokeslamming him last week. He also tries to coax Kane into going out to the ring tonight. He says Kane doesn’t need his mask and that the fans will accept him.

4) Chris Jericho & Test vs. Scott Steiner & Stacy Keibler

JR yells for Jerry to look at Stacy’s face for once and it’s hilarious. “YOU LOOK AT HER LEGS EVERY WEEK LOOK AT HER DAMN FACE” lmao. This shit is a drag. And it all ends in a DQ because Jericho throws the ref. Bischoff comes out and makes it No DQ and Test slams Stacy for the win. Hot garbage.

Match rating - 1/2*

5) Maven vs. Rico (w/ Miss Jackie)

MAVEN!! Ahhh. This is even more nostalgic because as of this writing, I just got back from WrestleMania weekend 2022 and Maven made an appearance at a GCW event I attended. What a guy. But yeah this happens. It isn’t much. Both guys are fun, sorta, but the crowd is dead. Rico wins.

Match rating - *1/2

6) Randy Orton (w/ Ric Flair) vs. Tommy Dreamer

They lock up and go to the floor and stay locked up along the barricade. Orton takes control and Flair gets involved and uses Dreamer’s kendo stick against him. Orton hits the RKO for the quick win.

Match rating - *1/2

Backstage, Eric Bischoff tells RVD that he is to blame if Kane gets fired for not going out and facing the audience with his newly unmasked face later tonight.

Back from commercial, Bischoff tells Terri to go see what Kane is thinking so he’ll know if he’s gonna have to fire him or not. Terri is uncomfortable going to see Kane and Bischoff threatens to fire her if she doesn’t.

7) La Resistance (Rene Dupree & Sylvan Grenier) vs. The Hurricane & Spike Dudley

This is a non title match. Hurricane has been trying to find a new tag team partner and this week, he found Spike. They give the champs a small run for their money here. Spike is the true highlight, bumping around like crazy including a backdrop to the floor. The champs win when all is said and done, though. A suffice sprint.

Match rating - **

Backstage, Terri tries to approach Kane, but he’s no longer in the room that he’s been in all night.

8) Triple H (c) vs. Rob Van Dam - World Heavyweight Championship Match

Well.. this was a fine match until the DQ finish. Bischoff restarts the match as falls count anywhere. Van Dam hits a moonsault for an almost three count on the floor. Randy Orton runs down to break up the count and the numbers eat Van Damn alive. After the match, Kane comes out.. bare face and all.. and grabs Van Dam by the throat only to drop hiM AND GRAB BISCHOFF AMD CHOKESLAM HIM OFF THE STAGE!!! Kane stares in the camera like a weirdo to close the show.. fuck yea!
