ROH TV Review - August 6th, 2015

1) The Young Bucks & AJ Styles vs. War Machine (Hanson & Rowe)
The show gets off to a HOT start with this contest. It wasn't scheduled to be a handicap match however it kind of turned into that. The Bucks got a nice run to start off as they nailed superkicks and such. They start going through their stuff and Nick dives through the legs of his brother over the top rope onto Hanson & Rowe. He begins favoring his leg following the dive which leads to Matt going it alone as AJ Styles comes down to check on Nick. After "We Want AJ" chants began, he gets on the apron and asks for the tag and for some reason the ref allows it. AJ starts cleaning house. Nick ends up coming back as the injury was just a fake. Bucks & AJ pick up the win. This was different, but very enjoyable.

2) Cedric Alexander (w/ Veda Scott) vs. Romantic Touch

SQUASH. That's all this was. RT did a get a nice tope conhelo in, though. Cedric gets the pin and Veda gets on the mic. She tells him that there's one thing she wants from him and that's to rip the mask off Romantic Touch. Cedric starts doing so and Caprice Coleman runs in only to get shoved down by his former partner. Moose's music hits to a good pop and he runs Cedric out of the ring.

3) Kyle O'Reilly vs. Adam Cole
This is a classic match up in recent years on the Indies. These two broke out together as a tag team and then went down similar singles paths although O'Reilly did stick to tag team work in Ring of Honor. It's clear Cole is at the start of a change of character as he's being a good sportsman here for the most part. Before things can really get going, Christopher Daniels, who is on commentar, starts mocking Kyle which leads to Cole knocking him on his ass. Daniels charges both men after this which calls for a double DQ. Kazarian ends up coming out to join Daniels in trying to beat down Cole & Kyle before they retreat. Cole gets on the mic and proposes a one night only Future Shock reunion with the mission being to take down the Addiction. OH YES! THIS IS AWESOME!

4) Future Shock (Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly) vs. The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian)
This happened and it didn't have much time so it's not very noteworthy. I feel like it's going to lead to something bigger though, so I can't complain. Daniels was in his jeans here so you knew this wouldn't go long. Cole rolls him up out of nowhere for the win. Chris Sabin runs down at this point and a 3 on 2 beatdown on Future Shock begins. Bobby Fish hits the ring for the save to run off the KRD. We get a cool staredown to close out the show as The Kingdom appears at the stage. The crowd chants "New ReDragon" as the announcers question what's next for all parties involved, particulary Adam Cole and where his allegiance lies.

Overall thoughts: This was the most WWE-esque episode of ROH TV that I've seen. Most of the things here were storyline based and featured run-ins. It was all enjoyable though so I can't complain. Just don't tune in expecting any great matches.
