Ruthless Aggression Era Project: WWE Raw Review - December 2nd, 2002

WWE Monday Night Raw
December 2, 2002

Replays of last week where Triple H assaulted Shawn Michaels during/after his title defense against Rob Van Dam.

1) Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley vs. 3 Minute Warning (w/ Rico)
They replay last week where The Dudley's stole Christian & Y2J's clothes from the locker room after they got screwed in their title match against them. The Dudleys and 3MW seem to have some awesome chemistry based off the show stealing opener they had at Survivor Series and how hot the crowd was for this one. Lots of action all around. Spike Dudley came down when Rico got involved and shit. Dudleys get the victory after a pretty fun match.

Match rating - **1/2

Back from commercial, all three of The Dudley's are fallen in and out of the ring. They show replays and apparently, Jericho & Christian threw Spike off the stage onto the announce table and Bubba & D-Von were beaten with chairs by 3MW. Officials tend to them and try to take care of the chaos.

Eric Bischoff and Sean Morley are backstage trying to figure out how to handle how out of control things have been lately. Triple H storms in with Flair behind and gets in Bischoff's face. H says the #1 contendership and Shawn Michaels' World Title belongs to him. Bischoff says if he wants it so bad, it will be H vs. RVD tonight in a #1 Contender's Match. H says he's gonna give Bischoff a trainwreck tonight.

LATER ON: Booker T vs. Chris Jericho

They replay Spike getting thrown off the stage from earlier and the conchairto Christian delivered to the Dudleys.

2) Trish Stratus vs. Ivory

"We've been too busy to eat a subway here tonight." -J.R. after a Subway ad during Ivory's entrance

OOO ITS TIME TO ROCK N ROLL. Vic is backstage watching Trish's entrance and puts on one of her cowgirl hats. They are really playing up this weird obssession story. This isn't terrible, but it also is very forgettable. It's 4 minutes and Trish wins with the springboard bulldog thing.

Match rating - **

So, apparently, Victoria found the hat digging through Jacqueline's bags. Jackie confronts her and they set up a match for later. Jackie floors her ass then walks off.

Jericho & Christian brag backstage about their assault on the Dudley's earlier.

3) Jeff Hardy & Tommy Dreamer vs. William Regal & Lance Storm

For such a talented group of dudes, this SUCKED. Regal pins Dreamer off an exposed turnbuckle shot. I'm bored.

Match rating - *

Flair catches Batista working out and wants to talk to him before they go to the ring. Flair says Batista has something special and hasn't seen anything like him in years. Flair wants to take advantage of Batista's rough childhood and wants to see him unleash that rage on his opponent tonight.

4) Batista vs. The Hurricane

SQUASH. Kane makes the save when Batista tries to continue the assault after the match.

Match rating - N/R

HBK INTERVIEW BACKSTAGE. RVD shows up. Eric Bischoff pops up to instigate things and name Shawn Michaels the special ref for the #1 Contender's Match between RVD and Triple H. Bischoff says if he doesn't call it straight down the middle, he will strip him of the world title.

5) Chris Jericho & Christian (c) vs. Booker T & Goldust - World Tag Team Title Match

This began as Jericho/Booker in a singles match that was ramped up by Booker making fun of Jericho losing his clothes last week and comparing the size of their dicks figuratively with movie references. Christian & Goldy interfered after a few minutes Sean Morley makes this a tag match and it’s for the titles. I wasn’t into this when it was the singles match but holy shit the tag ruled. Just 7 minutes balls to the wall with a molten hot crowd that wanted the title change so bad. They don’t get it though, but they get a fun ass time. Jericho retains off a belt shot after a bunch of shit.

Match rating - ***

Stacy is straddling Test backstage and we for some reason have a hidden camera “F-View” of it.

6) Victoria vs. Jacqueline

So, this happens and it’s decent. Jacqueline beats Vic and she has a breakdown. We return from commercial and Vic says Jacqueline cheated and calls her back to the ring. Instead she GETS SCOTT STEINER. God damn lmao. Victoria says she doesn’t think Scott could handle her. Stevie attacks Steiner, but gets his ass whooped. Bischoff comes out and has a treat for Steiner. Steiner follows him backstage and it’s a bunch of women. Steiner says it’s awesome, but he has his own super freak in his limo. Eric wants to see her and Scott leads him to the limo. Eric opens the door to do the honors and ITS STEPHANIE MCMAHON. Steiner says a “mans gotta do what a mans gotta do” and Steph taunts that she can offer Steiner something that Eric can’t and says “holla if ya hear me” as they pull off. Is Steiner gone to Smackdown???

RANDY ORTON INJURY UPDATE THING

7) Triple H vs. Rob Van Dam - Special Guest Referee: Shawn Michaels - #1 Contender's Match

Michaels sends Ric Flair away from ringside to start. Van Dam charges the ring and this thing starts hot. They do a lot of HBK kinda being impartial to Triple H with blocking closed fists excessively and some slower counts. Van Dam accidentally moonsaults into HBK and knocks him down. This allows H to go for a chair, Shawn blocks it and Van Dam goes for a kick on H, but hits HBK AGAIN by accident. RVD remains in control, though. UNTIL, RVD tries to wake up HBK for a count and H nails Van Dam with a chair. This gets him the pin even with a slow count from Shawn.

Match rating - **

H wants his hand raised. HBK is reluctant and then chooses to throw shots instead and ITS A DAMN BRAWL. Sgt Slaughter and all the security boys hit the ring, H & HBK fight them off and keep going at it. They come back in to stop HBK from superkicking H, but HE GETS IT ANYWAY. It's HBK defending against Triple H at Armageddon.
