ROH TV Review - March 22nd, 2014

ROH TV Review - March 22nd, 2014
1) Roderick Strong, Jimmy Jacobs, and BJ Whitmer vs. Adrenaline Rush & Andrew Everett

This match pitted the team of veterans, The Decade, against the new comers in Adrenaline Rush and Andrew Everett. Despite the difference in experience, Adrenaline Rush & Everett hung right there with The Decade throughout the whole match. With the names involved, I'm sure you expected this to be crazy and that's exactly what it was. Andrew Everett showed his unbelievable agility on several occasions and ACH hit one of the highest flips in the air that I've ever seen. I was also impressed by Thomas who hit a lot of impressive moves during this match. I already knew how great the team of Jacobs, Strong, and Whitmer were, but in this match I found out that Adrenaline Rush & Andrew Everett are indeed on their way to being just as good. Awesome opening match.

Match rating - 8/10

2) The Romantic Touch vs. RD Evans (w/Veda Scott)

Evans' undefeated streak is still intact and in his words has become "The New Streak". That streak continued tonight on ROH TV as he defeated Romantic Touch via countout. This was a fun match that ended when Romantic Touch chased Veda under the ring and didn't make it back into the ring before being counted out. Veda emerged from under the ring first looking shocked. Romantic Touch soon came out as well and began smoking a cigarette. Funny stuff. The match did include some solid action even though I didn't mention much about it. Decent match that was mainly done for entertainment. It did it's job.

Match rating - 6/10

After the match, RD Evans cuts a promo on his streak, but is interrupted by Silas Young who runs Evans and Veda out of the ring. Silas proclaims that he is the last real man in pro wrestling.

3) Cedric Alexander vs. Adam Page

Two outstanding young wrestlers here in Alexander and Page. Ironically, Roderick Strong of the Decade is at ringside on commentary for this match. Throughout the match he mentions that he likes Adam Page, but not Cedric Alexander. Regardless of Strong's opinion on either man, they put on a really good match. I'm a big fan of Alexander and he continued to impress me here as did Adam Page. Roderick Strong came into play near the end as he tried to give Adam Page advice, but he didn't listen and it ended up costing him. Alexander then hit the backbreaker move that Strong claims he stole from him. Alexander looks at Strong while doing it and points at him while covering Page for the pin. Strong gets in the ring and has a staredown with Alexander, but it doesn't last long as Alexander walks out quickly. It looks as if we are going to get a feud between Strong and Alexander which is something to get excited about. Can't wait to see the great matches they will put on. I also love how they've been booking The Decade with all this younger talent as of late. After Alexander leaves, Strong continues talking with Page. Really good match and excellent storyline development.

Match rating - 7.5/10

4) Adam Cole & Michael Bennett (w/Maria Kanellis) vs. The Briscoes

This match started off as just your basic tag team match with some good action, but it soon broke down into chaos. The ending sequence was the best part of this match. Mark Briscoe took a crazy dive off the apron and delivered a backbreaker to Bennett on the floor which was insane. Back in the ring, Jay and Mark target Cole for some double team moves. They hit a few of their signature moves and Mark goes to the apron. As Mark steps onto the apron, Michael Bennett hits a running spear sending him off the apron through a table at ringside! This allows Jay Briscoe to hit the Jay driller (piledriver) on Adam Cole for the victory! Great main event!

Match rating - 8.25/10
