WWE Main Event Review - March 5th, 2014

WWE Main Event Review - March 5th, 2014

1) Daniel Bryan vs. Kane
The show opened with this match between Daniel Bryan and Kane. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much here, but Bryan and Kane proved me wrong. They put on a great match that was much better than I thought it would be. There were alot of a counters, reversals, and near falls. It lasted around 20 minutes which definitely played into their favor. Bryan and Kane's previous match on Raw wasn't good and I think that it was because of time restraints and because Kane dominated the majority of the match. This time around, Bryan and Kane got much more time and it definitely wasn't one sided. It resulted in a great match.
The only negative was the ending which was Bryan winning via a rollup. Besides that it was a very good match.

Match rating - 7.75/10

2) Nikki Bella vs. Alicia Fox
Lately I've been noticing alot of improvement from many divas in WWE, especially The Bella Twins. In particular, Nikki has improved alot. This was a fun little divas match. Some impressive moves from both women. No botches, it wasn't boring, and it had some good action. The only downfall to this match for me was hearing Brie constantly yell "Come on Nikki". I can't be the only person who's noticed this during every singles match Nikki has. None the less, enjoyable match.

Match rating - 5/10

3) The Usos vs. Los Matadores - WWE Tag Team Championship Match
The Usos were previously scheduled to defend their newly won Tag Team Championships against the fomer champions, The New Age Outlaws, but they came out and said they were injured. This led to Brad Maddox choosing the Matadores as their replacements for this match. The Outlaws stayed at ringside to do commentary. This was an action packed, fast paced tag team match. As expected with these two teams, it was very fun to watch. Good match in which the Usos's retain the titles. What happened afterwards was pretty fun as well. The Matadores' bull gave Billy Gunn a hurricanrana and then the Matadores' hit a double team move on him. Loving the tag team division in WWE right now. Fun stuff.

Match rating - 7/10

Overall thoughts: Really good episode of Main Event this week. Bryan/Kane was great, the Divas Match was solid, and the Tag Title match was fast paced and fun to watch. Nothing really to complain about here. It wasn't anything out of this world, but it's a solid hour of wrestling that I'd recommend checking it out if you missed it and are looking for something to watch.
